PNAU & Budjerah - Stranger Love (Remixes)

4 Aug 2021

PNAU recently teamed up with Australian singer-songwriter prodigy Budjerah for their latest single ‘Stranger Love’. A powerful and uplifting house track based on the French novella The Little Prince, ‘Stranger Love’ brings together Budjerah’s soulful voice with the dancefloor sensibilities that PNAU have become renowned for over their stellar career. Recorded in Byron Bay in early 2021, ‘Stranger Love’ magically marries the best of both artists into an interstellar banger. Now ‘Stranger Love’ receives a whole lot of love with some powerhouse names within the Australian music scene on remix duties including Dave Winnel, Taka Perry, EDDIE and Stacie Fields. All the remixes are out today via etcetc Music.

Sydney´s own Dave Winnel has been conquering the world with his unique take on the house genre, having collaborated with Armin Van Buuren on ´The Race´, produced official remixes for Twenty One Pilots, David Guetta, Bastille, Anne-Marie, Clean Bandit, Hardwell, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, and Galantis, plus releasing his epic new single ‘Legends’. Dave Winnel gives ‘Stranger Love’ a classic tech house feel with a hard hitting bassline, continuing to prove himself to be one of the most prolific electronic producers exploding from Down Under.

Another Sydney Producer, Taka Perry, saw an incredible 12 months with the release of ‘Only U’ featuring Gia Vorne, ‘Diamonds’, and a mind-blowing triple j’s Like A Version covering Kanye West. Australian/Japanese producer Taka Perry mixes things up again with his version of ‘Stranger Love’, slowing it down and switching it up on a downtempo hip hop beat. Taka explains, “When I was asked to remix PNAU’s latest single, naturally I jumped at the opportunity. When I had a chance to hear Budjerah’s solo vocal (who in my opinion has one of the most original and technically strong voices in the country), I could hear this almost hopeful melancholic element, so I wanted to hone in on that as much as possible. I just love it when remixes take a track and transport it to a completely different emotional world, hopefully I’ve achieved that with this one”.

With previous releases under deadmau5’ esteemed mau5trap label, Melbourne’s EDDIE started off 2021 with his first solo single release of the year with ‘A Better Place’. Using a lot of melodic elements on electro beats, EDDIE’s take on the remix is a groovy, progressive house track, serving a versatile sound for your headphones or the dancefloor.

In just two years, Sydney native, Stacie Fields has had six of her singles in the top 10 of Australian Club Charts, with her latest single ‘The Gift’ reaching #5 and gaining huge international support from Jamie Jones, Todd Terry, Friend Within and Kideko. Her music can be described as the perfect blend of funky, classic and tech house combined with uplifting soulful vocals. Stacie’s remix of ‘Stranger Love’ is just that, using her influence of ‘90s house to create a track with a familiar essence.
