The second single from Houston-based singer-songwriter Ivy Rose,Brave’ is one to get lost in. Co-written and recorded with Henry Hey, Zach Danziger and Lab78’s creative team of Nicholas Littlemore and Peter Mayes, ‘Brave’ is a high-flying ‘90s rock ballad led by Ivy Rose’s blissful yet sermonic vocals. ‘Brave’ follows on from Ivy Rose’s captivating debut single ‘I’ve Been Watching You’ which garnered critical acclaim across the board.

Amongst a bed of filtered guitars and anthemic drums, Ivy Rose creates a moody and intoxicating ambiance. “Brave is one of my favourites from the EP. It’s hopeful and dreamy; the perfect song to get lost spinning around to,” says Ivy Rose.

Ivy Rose’s songwriting collaborators continue to go from strength to strength. Henry Hey, a notable American keyboardist and composer joins the writing team for ‘Brave’. Hey, most renowned for his work with David Bowie’s catalogue and musical ‘Lazarus’, also served as musical director and pianist for George Michael’s ‘Symphonica Tour’. Littlemore and Hey have previously worked together in various capacities including co-writing with Empire of the Sun.

Complementing the writing is New York-based drummer, Zach Danziger. DrummerWorld identified Danziger as “on the cutting edge, leading a new movement that has broad implications for modern drum set playing”. Danziger progressive’s approach to acoustic and electronic drumming has led him to recording works with such futuristic jazz luminaries as David Holmes, Bill Evans and Dave Fiuczynski, plus more commercially renowned acts such as U2, Primal Scream and Manic Street Preachers.

‘Brave’ is the next step in the entrancing unfolding story of Ivy Rose who is set to release her debut EP later this year.
