With her smooth signature styling of down tempo R&B and electronica, Gold Coast-based singer-songwriter DOOLIE is back with her first release of the year ‘Woke Up Feeling Dramatic’. DOOLIE teams up with producer GXNXVS to draw on nostalgia from early 2000s romantic comedies to explore the lust and love that brews at the beginning of a new relationship, when you feel in a constant daze of excitement and desire.

DOOLIE explains, “I wanted this track to instantly take you back to a time when you felt an infinite possibility with a new lover; when you can't get enough of them.”

“I can’t even make you late, even if I lay in bed. I’ll use your t-shirt as a dress,” DOOLIE sings, following a playful melody, her words are anchored in the selfless pleasure we all feel in the honeymoon phase of a relationship.

Following the release of ‘My Cue To Leave’ featuring PNK FME at the end of last year, DOOLIE performed a co-headline show with Sycco at Sunday Harvest at Burleigh Heads in January, plus recently took to the stage at Elsewhere on the Gold Coast alongside fellow Queenslander San Mei. DOOLIE has also been announced on the Torch Fest line up in Brisbane on April 10th alongside the lines of Tia Gostelow, plus DOOLIE will be supporting Owl Eyes on board YOT Club on the Gold Coast on April 25th and YOT Club Brisbane on April 30th.

Having connected with notable producers including Kilter, Moonbase, GXNXVS, Cam Nacson, ALIUS, PACES and POOLCLVB on her recent debut album, ‘hope u like my mixtape’, it’s been a flourishing 12 months in and out of the studio for DOOLIE, who was invited to jump on stage with Illy to perform his hits ‘Papercuts’ and ‘Catch 22’ as part of Channel Ten’s Melbourne Cup Carnival in November, plus performed live with Illy at the Factory Summer Festival in Brisbane on Christmas Eve.

Continually building her signature sound, ‘Woke Up Feeling Dramatic’ is just a taste of what’s to come for DOOLIE in 2021.
