Kira Divine – Archaeology ft. Marques Toliver

Back with her first single in 3 years, Kira Divine returns with emotive disco bop ‘Archaeology’ alongside Marques Toliver and Aussie electronic legends PNAU. Known to be the long lost follow up single to PNAU collaboration ‘Solid Gold’ (also featuring Marques Toliver) now getting it’s official release alongside the original creators.  Kira, platinum billboard charting vocalist behind huge PNAU singles ‘Go Bang’, ‘Chameleon’ and ‘Solid Gold’, accompanies her new release with an official music video which highlights Kira’s time in Guyana, her parents home country.

Kira explains the magic behind the song, “Archaeology is a track that grabbed my spirit from the very first listen. I chose it out of a few tracks PNAU shared with me as we decided to embark on writing some new tracks together. I’ll never forget the first writing session whilst in the midst of touring, Nick and Peter rented a home in the mystical beach town of Byron Bay. The scenery inspired me to honor the aboriginal ancestral roots of Australia while also reflecting on my own personal cultural roots. I woke up singing with the birds and it reminded me so much of the Amazon in Guyana, my parents home country that I often visit. Our roots are so important as it not only grounds us, but it also shapes who we are. My Afro-Caribbean roots are always at the forefront of all that I do. So it naturally came out as we started recording in Byron Bay.”

She continues “Nick suggested bringing Marques in as we already had a great song together “Solid Gold”. The theme of relationships and how we all relate to one another became more evident in the second phase of building this track. Relationships have been a point of reference since the beginning of time. Dance and music have always told the stories of our history. Archaeology calls us back to the beginning, back to where it all started, to our primal ancestral ways of being while also creating a new pathway towards the future. All honour to my ancestors for paving the way.”
