With releases on Skream’s ‘Of Unsound Mind’, and Waze & Odyssey’s ‘Street Tracks, ELZACE most recent release, titled ‘Ascendance’ was honoured with BBC Radio 1’s ‘Essential New Tune’ by global house legend, Pete Tong. Recently ELZACE has tapped an impressive list of early support from DJs John Digweed, Richie Hawtin, Andi Durrant, James Harcourt, solidifying an early start in the future of melodic and progressive house.
New single ‘Block The Sky’ delivers on ELZACE’s deep emotive songwriting and high-end production. Wide and warm piano chords, matched with perfectly engineered synth patterns, A track which sits perfectly alongside his recordings being championed at Warehouse Project, CircoLoco, Ministry Of Sound, and Mint. Joining ELZACE is a vocal performance from Australian artist, Vlossom. His melodic prose transports ‘Block The Sky’ toward a 90s warehouse with glimmers of Karl Hyde’s fragmented and esoteric phrasing, “It’s the sound of a song, forgotten how to sing” and “now with trees tall enough to block the sky”
I’ve always been influenced by the sense of positivity and freedom of 90s piano house and this was the inspiration for the track. I felt that it needed a vocal hook and since I love what Vlossom does I decided to see if he wanted to feature on the record. I was blown away by the results. I think the vocal delivery fits the vibe of this track perfectly! – Chase / ELZACE. ‘Block The Sky’ is taken from the forthcoming EP titled, ‘No One Competes’ due late November 2024.
