Surahn

Surahn has a lifetime of stories to tell – most of them through his music – but many of them left behind on the countless stages he has played around the world as multi-instrumentalist for juggernaut bands like Empire Of The Sun, Flight Facilities and Hayden James. His pillars of experience, like working closely with Usher for a few years in the US or his enchanted collaborations with Kimbra, give him credibility as a writer that not many can claim.

Surahn’s trademark nostalgic songwriting and the disco-laden instrumentation tilts its brim to cult classics like Fleetwood Mac, Ned Doheny, Christopher Cross and the Eagles. His sophomore album ‘Soft Rock Summer’ delivers a unique brand of soft rock, jazz funk and disco.; using the power of the groove he has crafted a treasure trove of Balearic gems, with the full intention that some of them may possibly be found washed up on a deserted island in decades to come.

Now based in Willunga, of South Australia’s McLaren Vale region Surahn runs a working almond farm where he welcomes visitors with regular community recitals and gastronomy from the region.
