Luke Million's Record Store Day Score

In connection with the release of his own 7inch release, we sent Luke Million crate-digging in Brisbane for Record Store Day to see what gems he could find.

Budget: $50

Here's how retro synth aficionado allocated his very restrictive $50 budget, and why:

1. Electronic Light Orchestra - Time

Big fan of ELO and this was missing from my collection. It is a concept album about a man from the 80's taken to 2095 and this record probably one of their most influential works!

2. Boney M. - Love For Sale

The coolest cats in Disco! Say no more.

3. Madonna - Into The Groove (Single)

My favourite Madonna track. Love the syncopated synth bass and phat poly synth riff. Been rinsing the digital version at parties for some time now, so I felt the need to have this on vinyl.

4. Yellow Magic Ochestra - Computer Game / La Femme Chinoise

They are pioneers of electronic disco/pop and this quote from the band leader made this record a 'must have'... "We are the experimental people. We come from Tokyo, the technopolis. We have to transcend and use the mind and use music. We call the music of Yellow Magic Orchestra, TECHNOPOPS."

5. Pointer Sisters - Break Out

Always have loved the high energy electronic disco from these gals, but they were poorly represented in my collection. So when I found their best album in the newly arrived section at Rocking Horse, I jumped straight on it!
