Vlossom Unveil the Next Taste of Their Upcoming E.P. with New Single "TABS"
17 Jan 2020
Having evolved into existence late last year with their debut single “Catch Your Breath”, Vlossom today unveil the next taste of their upcoming EP with their new single, “Tabs”. “Tabs” is an entry into another world, a wonderland both beautifully futuristic and profoundly elemental; a world that is quintessentially Vlossom. This week Vlossom also announced their debut U.S. shows, with the band set to perform at SXSW in Austin this March. This follows on from Vlossom’s first live shows in Australia this month, taking over Sydney’s The Lansdowne for a four-show residency throughout January.
Vlossom is a newly birthed collaboration between Australian musicians Nick Littlemore (of multiplatinum selling acts Empire of the Sun & PNAU) and Alister Wright (frontman of Australian indie rock band Cloud Control). Vlossom symphonize elements of pop and psych-rock and electronic music into something strangely multisensory—a body of work possessed of its own distinct texture and temperature and colour and perfume, euphoric and often trance-inducing yet undeniably transformative.
Littlemore describes the meaning behind “Tabs”: “Tabs is about the human relationship with time and the ticking clocks of consciousness. Ride this song like a rocket ship into a kaleidoscopic world, take this journey from star to asteroid and beyond, come try the friendly skies...you are all invited.”
Wright adds, "This song is a little glint we brought back from the realm. I think some things are lost in translation, so you need to sing about them - but when you’re in the moment you are them. Luckily that’s where music comes in, that’s what we can use to blur the lines between this reality and others. Some people like to dance, some people like to meditate, some people like Tabs."
“Tabs” is available to stream/download from January 17th on Lab78, the newly launched label from PNAU’s Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes.
Step into the colourful world of Vlossom live at their residency at Sydney’s The Lansdowne this month and at SXSW in Austin, Texas this March.
