Releasing his first single in 18 months, Kilter teams up with Brain Flowers (Toby Anagnostis and Nicholas Littlemore of PNAU) for their new single, ‘Forever and Ever’. The track is a smooth-as-butter serenade driven by an uplifting groove with delivery of otherworldly vocals from Toby and surprise assistance from Nicole Millar on background vocals.

Kilter explains how the track came together, “I was hanging out with my parents and this record from the 70s came on. The melodies were really ethereal and hallucinogenic and immediately jumped out as something that could be transformed into a slamming dance track.  I’d heard Toby’s work with Nick as Brain Flowers and couldn’t think of a better fit for the track. Luckily, he was into the idea as I had already decided that he was the only person who could pull off a track like this making the soaring vocals sound effortless and cool. I headed off to Europe soon after recording in Sydney, so we bounced the track back and forth a little and even got cracking on some more music!”

Toby from Brain Flowers adds, "By the time Ned got in touch about jumping on the track, most of the thumping production was finished and it had these operatic place-holder vocals from the original that were theatrical and dramatic. They came from such different worlds, but Ned effortlessly blended them together to create a sound that was simultaneously smooth and thumping. We had a great day in the studio hearing it develop further as we tracked the final vocals and we landed on something that we’re both really excited about."

‘Forever and Ever’ is Kilter’s first release since his Arabian-tinged tech house collab with JessB, ‘Friction’, released in 2020, and collab with Lil Spacely ‘C.A.C’ which received a premiere on BBC Radio 1 and was added into rotation on Triple J. With over 40 million plays, Sydney-born artist Kilter (Ned East) has earned critical praise as a producer and irrefutably enigmatic songwriter, culminating in the release of his debut album, Through The Distortion in 2017.

Kilter has supported and remixed the likes of RUFUS DU SOL, Little Dragon, and Hermitude, and has played countless festivals like Splendour In The Grass, Spilt Milk, and Falls Festival. Since 2017, Kilter has shifted from his hip-hop and electronica roots to dance music blending house with techno, culminating in electrifying recent releases over the years.

With the whole world in a standstill for the last two years, Kilter experimented with new ways to perform developing a live show with a myriad of musical hardware, mastering the intensity of dance- floor energy tunes. Kilter now travels between Australia and Europe, with original and electrifying tunes lined up for the remainder of 2022.

Brain Flowers is the trans-Pacific collaboration between Toby Anagnostis and Nicholas Littlemore of PNAU, which explores the organic nuances between sound, thought and wellbeing. Toby caught the eye of Nick Littlemore (PNAU, Empire of the Sun) when he uploaded a song to the Triple J Unearthed Collab Comp. What started as a one-off writing session, quickly bloomed into a fully-fledged project, Brain Flowers, as they continued to unravel a sound that is as vast and other-worldly as it is intimately personal. Brain Flowers released their debut single ‘You’re Not Alone’, in late 2021 which explored the idea of unity being an answer to our fears about the future.

Kilter and Brain Flowers team up together to show off the best of their individual artistic worlds and in turn created a dance floor arm-in-arm anthem, certain to challenge any lingering personal space conditioning. Kilter and Brain Flowers’ ‘Forever and Ever’ is out now.
