JNTHN STEIN - Headroom EP
26 Oct 2018
Oakland born producer and classically trained multi-instrumentalist JNTHN STEIN today drops his sophomore EP, Headroom, including a fresh collaboration ‘Bedtime’, featuring KRANE.
Hailing from the Manhattan School of Music, STEIN has frequently been praised for his combination of jazz and electronic eclectic beats. After partnering up with Brasstracks and The Age of L.U.N.A on previous EP tracks, JNTHN now joins forces with Oakland producer KRANE off the back of his collaborations with the likes of Anderson.Paak, Slumberjack, Ekali, CXLOE and more. ‘Bedtime’ is the final EP track and latest addition to JNTHN’s repertoire; a slow-burner and fitting conclusion to the Headroom EP.
On working with KRANE on ‘Bedtime’, JNTHN says, “I always love working with Krane; he's so focused and hardworking our tracks just end up producing themselves at the end of the night. This one's about those wee hours when you really should just go get some sleep, but then you have to jump back out of bed because you still have an awesome idea stuck in your head.”
It’s been a big year for STEIN who’s had collaborations released with A$AP Ferg and Mick Jenkins and continues to share his expertise producing with everyone from metalcore’s Brandon Saller to Lyves, Lily Ahlberg, Rocky, Dakota, Starling and more. Premiered by Jamz Supernova on BBC Radio 1 Xtra, EP track ‘Headroom’ feat. Brasstracks has seen DJ support from the likes of Satin Jackets, The Aston Shuffle, DJ Craze and more, with JNTHN continuing his solid run of remixes into 2018 for the likes of PNAU and DROELOE. His music has garnered millions of streams online and seen him supported on respected outlets such as Complex Magazine, Beats 1 Radio, BBC Radio 1, KCRW and Spotify's New Music Friday playlist.
STEIN continues to establish his solo identity as part of the LA-based production collective Team Supreme, which he co-founded, and works alongside Grammy-nominated peers King Henry and Djemba Djemba.
