Grammy-nominated Australian DJ and producer FISHER celebrates his first release of 2022 with a
deftly crafted volume-cranker, ‘Palm Beach Banga’. Appearing in FISHER’s DJ sets since 2019, the
track has been continually worked on to the point of perfection and is finally ready for release on
February 11th via etcetc in Australia and New Zealand.
As various Australian state governments continue to restrict dancing, FISHER’s new song asks us the
poignant question, ‘Can you dance to my beat?’
Featuring an absolute classic vocal akin to Green Velvet’s ‘La La Land’, US house music royalty
Palmer Brown aka Kevin Hedge’s (Blaze, Stardust, De’Lacy) vocal tops the acidy tech house
production from FISHER.
Not short of social commentary, ‘Palm Beach Banga’ has been spotted in FISHER and fans’ social
posts at shows in the US (Electric Zoo, Elrow, Marquee) and UK (Creamfields, The Drumsheds and
Printworks) over the last 12 months. An homage to the stomping ground of a grommet surfer
FISHER, Palm Beach is a coastal suburb on Queensland’s Gold Coast, an area where Paul Fisher now
lives with his wife Chloe Chapman and friends from high school who he’s still close to today.
Known for his wild sense of humour and energetic performance persona, FISHER first burst onto the
electronic scene with tracks ‘Stop It’ and ‘Ya Kidding’, since becoming one of the scene’s most indemand artists. His 2018 Grammy and ARIA-nominated single ‘Losing It’, definitively iconic, was one
of the most impactful songs of the year, reaching #2 on triple j’s Hottest 100 and having now been
streamed on Spotify over 300 million times.
