Celebrating 10 years of non-stop party tunes, we issued a call-out for any covers of our extensive catalogue. Enter, Decade of Dance: Reworked, a 5-track EP featuring epic covers of Duke Dumont, Two Door Cinema Club, Duck Sauce, Fever Ray, and MSTRKRFT, reformed for 2020.

Since inception in Sydney in the late noughties, etcetc Music has been an important part of establishing the careers of names like Two Door Cinema Club, Duke Dumont, Fever Ray and more recently PNAU, FISHER and CLYPSO. Whether it’s electronic, indie-dance, house or disco, we’ve tried to keep bodies moving and night time memorable. Along for the ride has been Aden Mullens, General Manager of etcetc who comments, “it’s been a lot of fun! Our focus has been around unique career artists, who forge their own path. I think that’s what’s been most exciting, the range of artists we get to work with being pretty diverse music fans ourselves.”

Passionate about our roots, supporting Australian breaking and homegrown talent has always been an integral part of our DNA. Through this reworked body work, we are showcasing some of the best local emerging and rising talent, including Kult Kyss, Sarah Wolfe, Nightingale, China Roses, Dan Vella, and LÂLKA. Re-imagining Duke Dumont’s 4x platinum hit ‘Ocean Drive’, soaring Melbourne indie-pop duo Kult Kyss are continually striving to push the boundaries of their own sound, and so they jumped at the opportunity to enter etcetc’s Decade of Dance covers comp - "We’re huge fans of Duke Dumont’s ‘Ocean Drive’, and were immediately drawn to the idea of reworking it for etcetc’s Decade of Dance. While vivid and upbeat, the song's lyrics are quite dark and cinematic, and we wanted to capture this mood in recreating it,” explains Kult Kyss.

Flourishing pop artist Sarah Wolfe is set to kick off the cover song releases on August 28 with her St Trinian’s inspired cover of the UK’s third biggest selling single of 2016 by Jax Jones - “I remember hearing 'You Don't Know Me' on triple j when it first came out, and there was something about the melody that had me drawn in straight away! When I went to choose my Decade of Dance cover this is the one that I knew I had the most connection with, so I wanted to have a go at giving it a Sarah Wolfe spin. To me, this version is what the track would sound like if it appeared on the St Trinian’s movie soundtrack,” shares Wolfe. Melbourne’s Nightingale is up next with his re-birth of Two Door Cinema Club’s 2010 global hit ‘Undercover Martyn’, followed by the entire ‘Decade of Decade: Reworked’ compilation on Friday September 11.
